Well, instead of having to write all the code from scratch every time we want to create a new model, we can use pre-built building blocks called layers. These layers are like Lego bricks for our neural networks they snap together easily and allow us to build complex models with just a few lines of code.
For example, let’s say we wanted to make a simple image classification model that could tell the difference between cats and dogs. We might start by importing ‘TensorFlow Models and Layers’, like so:

Then we’d create a new model using the ‘Sequential’ class and add our layers one by one:

In this example, we’re using a convolutional layer (Conv2D) to extract features from our input images, followed by a max pooling layer (MaxPooling2D) to reduce the size of those features. We then flatten out the output and pass it through a dense layer with 10 neurons for classification.
The beauty of using ‘TensorFlow Models and Layers’ is that we can easily swap out different layers or add new ones depending on our needs. For example, if we wanted to make a more complex model that could also detect edges in the images, we might add another convolutional layer with edge detection filters:

In this example, we’re using a second convolutional layer (Conv2D) with filters specifically designed to detect edges in the images (‘Sobel-x’ and ‘Sobel-y’). This allows us to extract even more features from our input data.
With just a few lines of code, we can create complex machine learning models that can handle all sorts of tasks. And the best part? We don’t have to be experts in neural network architecture or tensorflow programming to do it.
