Are you tired of forgetting your wallet password or losing your private keys?
Brainwallet is the ultimate tool for storing your cryptocurrency without any hassle. It’s like having a supercomputer in your brain, but with less electricity consumption and no risk of overheating. Here’s how it works: you choose a passphrase (or “brain key”) that only you can remember, and Brainwallet generates a private key for you based on that passphrase.
Unlike traditional wallets where your keys are stored in an encrypted file or hardware device, with Brainwallet, your keys are generated right in your browser using JavaScript. This means no data is ever sent to our servers and your privacy is guaranteed. Plus, you can easily memorize your passphrase instead of carrying around a piece of paper or a USB drive that could get lost or stolen.
Now, security. Brainwallet uses the scrypt key derivation function (KDF) to generate cryptocurrency keys from your passphrase. Scrypt is a memory-intensive algorithm designed to be resistant against brute force attacks. This means that even if someone manages to steal your passphrase, they won’t be able to crack it without spending an enormous amount of time and resources.
But what happens if you forget your passphrase? Well, we can’t help you there because Brainwallet is a deterministic wallet, which means that the same passphrase will always generate the same private key. So make sure to write down your passphrase somewhere safe (like on a piece of paper or in a password manager) and keep it hidden from prying eyes.
In terms of compatibility, Brainwallet supports Bitcoin and Litecoin, but you can also use any file as your passphrase by dragging it into the input field. This is especially useful if you want to store your keys on a photograph or document that only you have access to. Just make sure not to upload anything from the internet because that would defeat the purpose of using Brainwallet in the first place!
Finally, terms and conditions. By using Brainwallet, you agree to our Terms of Service (TOS), which basically means that we can’t be held responsible for any losses or damages caused by your use of this service. We also reserve the right to modify or terminate the service at any time without notice. But don’t worry, because we have a backup plan you can download our HTML file from GitHub and run it offline on an air-gapped computer for maximum security.
